An individual or firm that acts as a principal or counterpart to a transaction. Principals take one side of a position, hoping to earn a spread (profit) by closing out the position in a subsequent trade with another party. In contrast, a broker is an individual or firm that acts as an intermediary, putting together buyers and sellers for a fee or commission.

All Australian forex trading brokers are open at least 24/5. If the broker is a market maker or uses a dealing desk then you will be restricted to trading only from when the Australian markets open on Monday morning till the end of US trading on Friday (or for Australians early Saturday). Not only can you trade through their forex trading platforms but the currency brokers also keep customer service open during all of these forex trading hours. This is critical if you require assistance even during the early hours of the morning.

A demo account can also have technical analysis and other market diagnostic features that offer a new trader excellent educational material. The forex trading strategy Carry Trade is different from other forex strategies. While most of the Forex trading strategies follow the concept “buy low/sell high”, Carry Trade relies mainly on the difference in interest rate between the currencies. This means that forex traders can make profit even if the market is stable. When employing this strategy, traders buy a currency with a high differential ratio, meaning the interest rate of the currency they buy will be higher than that of the currency they sell.
Retail Forex traders – Finally, we come to retail Forex traders (you and I). The retail Forex trading industry is growing everyday with the advent of Forex trading platforms and their ease of accessibility on the internet. Retail Forex traders access the market indirectly either through a broker or a bank. There are two main types of retail Forex brokers that provide us with the ability to speculate on the currency market: brokers and dealers. Brokers work as an agent for the trader by trying to find the best price in the market and executing on behalf of the customer. For this, they charge a commission on top of the price obtained in the market. Dealers are also called market makers because they ‘make the market’ for the trader and act as the counter-party to their transactions, they quote a price they are willing to deal at and are compensated through the spread, which is the difference between the buy and sell price (more on this later).
Limit order – another order type used in trading that is more complex and requires more detail entry to execute. Limit orders traditionally function on a price execution basis, which means the order will only execute if the price of an asset passes a certain point. For example, if you have a limit buy order for Bitcoin at $3,000 , your order will execute only if Bitcoin price touches the $3,000 level.
Set your limits in advance: Before embarking on any Forex trade, you should have defined the price at which you'll open the trade, the price at which you will close it and take your profits, and the price at which you will close it, should the market turn unexpectedly, thereby cutting your losses. Then, once you have set those limits, it's important to stick with them!
In other words, sometimes the greatest risks are the ones you don’t even realize you are taking. This is why here on ForexBrokers.com we focus on reviewing forex brokers that are regulated and have been in operation, in some cases, for decades. We also include a Trust Score rating for each broker, making it easy to determine how trustworthy a firm is.
Minimize costs. Brokerage fees can undermine your returns. This is especially true if you participate in day trading. Day traders quickly buy and sell stocks throughout the day. They hold the stocks for less than one day, sometimes for only seconds or minutes, looking for opportunities to make quick profits. Day trading or any strategy in which you are frequently buying and selling your securities can get expensive. For every transaction, you may be charged transaction fees, investment fees and trading activity fees. These fees add up quickly and can significantly cut into your losses.
